I am on a mission to support parents as they navigate the public school system. As an educator, a mother, and a relentless advocate for children, I recognize that parents need more information about school in order to help their children meet their potential.
I strongly believe that parents are – and deserve to be treated as – invaluable partners in their child’s education. For this to be possible, parents need to be equipped with information about the policies, procedures, and behind-the-scenes details about the school system. Too often, this information is not shared or remains confusing. This website was developed to give parents the information they need to be confident advocates for their children.
PROFESSIONAL: My professional experience includes roles as a school administrator, school psychologist, and ABA therapist for children with Autism. I hold Masters degrees in Educational Administration and Educational Psychology, with a specialist degree in School Psychology. I have worked with students in pre-kindergarten through high school in both affluent suburbs and low-income cities.
PERSONAL: I’m married to a wonderful husband who has been my rock since we met at the University of Wisconsin… Go Badgers! We live in a suburb of Chicago with our four energetic…very, very energetic… sons. We were blessed to have the opportunity to adopt our two oldest sons after a six-year wild ride through the foster care system. My children are equally awesome but very different. My diverse little family has given me experience as a parent of children with learning disorders, emotional-behavioral disorders, gifted IQ, social-pragmatic disorders, speech articulation disorders, and life-threatening food allergies.
